ITINERARY
Your personal driver-guide will pick-you up from your central London hotel or place of residence at 9am. After a fast-route from London, our tour Windsor Castle & Hampton Court Family Tour gets up close to two of the most notable and famous buildings in the UK: the largest and oldest continually inhabited castle in the world, where 1,000 years of royal history and drama come alive, and the finest remaining Tudor Palace in the country and an historic national treasure. Tickets to both attractions will be booked in advance and added to your tour price.

Windsor Castle
After a short walk through the small but delightful town of Windsor, your personal guide will give you a family-friendly tour of the largest and oldest continually inhabited castle in the world. First built in 1080, and set in thousands of acres of parkland, it was once described as the most romantic of castles. It is now regarded as the monarch’s official home. Not to be missed: the opulent State Apartments (audio-guided) the incredible Queen Mary’s Doll’s House (audio-guided), and the magnificent George Chapel where ten monarchs are buried including Henry VIII. On Thursdays, you can also see the Changing of the Guard (much closer than at Buckingham Palace!).

Lunch
Your guide will suggest appropriate lunch options on the day. Perhaps a village tea-room, riverside restaurant or traditional pub. Alternatively, you may want to bring a pre-packed lunch or just grab a sandwich. It’s your tour, it’s your choice. (Note: Private Family Windsor Castle and Hampton Court Tour price does not include food or refreshments).

Hampton Court
Your personal guide will give you a family-friendly tour of an historic national treasure, Hampton Court, the finest remaining Tudor Palace in the country (Henry VIII actually stole it!). Highlights include the authentic Tudor kitchens, the Great Hall, the Chapel Royal, and an extraordinary ancient clock.

Hampton Court is actually two palaces in one, so we will also view the architectural legacy of the Stuart royal dynasty. Highlights include the Royal Apartments, an ancient working tennis court, and the magnificent gardens featuring the world’s oldest maze for you to get lost in!

The Canterbury Tales
In the late 14th century, Geoffrey Chaucer wrote the story of a group of pilgrims who set out from London to visit the shrine of Thomas Beckett. What follows is a rip-roaring and frankly rude collection of tales which we will discuss this classic as we walk through this ancient town.

Canterbury Cathedral & Thomas Beckett
Almost 850 years ago, the Christian world was rocked by a shocking assassination. On the King’s authority, the Archbishop was murdered in Canterbury Cathedral. Your personal guide will give you a family-friendly tour of this awe-inspiring medieval masterpiece.
