London... the West End, the East End, the royal palaces, the old city, the new city, the sights, the sounds, the smells! Laugh, gasp and shake your head as you listen to the amazing history and legendary tales in this full-day highlights tour of arguably the greatest city in the world. Complete with a choice of interior guided visits or walks.
West End
Start with a tour of London's famous 'West End', including Big Ben and Trafalgar Square. Choose from a wide selection of interior visits: take a guided tour of the world famous Westminster Abbey where kings and queens have been crowned for a thousand years. It is the venue for the 2011 Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. It was also where Princess Diana’s memorable funeral was held. Discover the gothic labyrinth of royal tombs as well as the final resting places of Newton, Darwin and Dickens. Alternatively, visit the amazing Churchill War Rooms, former British WWII underground HQ and now a fascinating time capsule.
Stop at Buckingham Palace to see the climax of the splendid Changing-of-the-Guard ceremony: all the Queen’s horses and all the Queen’s men in a centuries-old pageant of colour. Your guide will bag you the best spot for photos and regale you with regal tales. Lunch can be arranged nearby at an appropriate venue.
City
Head east for the old City of London. Hear how London Bridge fell down and see the spanking-new skyscapers of the modern finacial centre. Then it's 'off with your head' as we explore the Tower of London. See the Crown Jewels, king of bling! Wince at the incredible cruelty of Henry VIII, sigh at the tragic tale of Anne Boleyn, and smile with a superb photo opportunity in front of Tower Bridge. Alternatively, take an interior tour of St Paul's Cathedral or the Tower Bridge itself. A boat trip on the River Thames or a flight on the London Eye can be included to complement your tour.

HOW THE TOUR WORKS:
● Important note: 'Private tour' means a privately chartered guided tour. It does not entail exclusive private access. We do not offer tours to individuals wishing to join a larger group (for this you require a scheduled coach tour operator).
● The guide: Your tour will be conducted by a friendly qualified guide (or driver-guide for car tours) providing a knowledgeable commentary, and assisting with practical issues. Where venues offer in-house guides or audio devices, your guide will still escort you.
● Pick-up/drop-off: You can be picked-up for your tour anywhere in the London area, whether at your hotel, place of residence, or venue of your request. The same applies as a dropping-off point after the tour.
● Timings: The guide will meet you at the recommended start time or at a start time of your request. The duration of this tour is timed from pick-up to drop-off and includes built-in stops for photo opportunities, facilities, and a 1-hour lunch break.
● Lunch: An appropriate restaurant, traditional pub, or sandwich stop can be arranged for lunch (note: tour price does not include food or refreshments). Alternatively, you may want to bring a pre-packed lunch. The guide usually takes a rest during this period.
● Clothing: Clients should dress appropriately making allowances for the changeable British weather, outdoor activities or visiting churches, etc. Our main tip is to dress comfortably. For more tips to help make your tour even more enjoyable click here.
● Format: The tour has been specially researched and designed by our staff (copyright applies) and is exclusive to Your London Tours & associates. Selected elements of different tours can be combined to create even more options. See our Pick & Mix page.
● General: Rest assured with Your London Tours: All our tours are tailored to YOUR requirements. The guide will be exclusively dedicated to your family or group during the tour itself, so you will be able to relax and enjoy your day.

Public transport info - London's buses, tubes and taxis:
Fares are not included in the Safari tours price. We recommend you purchase a daily central travel card (zones 1 & 2) for your Safari tour. This will allow you to travel on all buses and tubes in the city centre for 24 hours. Group tickets are also available.
Buses: These are mostly one-man operated and your ticket must be shown when boarding. Some of the old Routemaster buses still operate. On these you hop on the back and show your ticket to a conductor. Quite why the powers that be ever got rid of these perfectly designed London icons, and then had the nerve to replace them with the unwieldy bendy-buses, is beyond logic.
Tubes: the nickname for London's subway system, the oldest and largest in the world. Excellent for quick cross-city jaunts. On the Safari tours we try to avoid the rush hour periods, when the crush can become uncomfortable.
Taxis: (or black cabs) the safest and best city taxi system in the world. All drivers undergo a series of street-memory exams of epic proportions, often taking three years or more to complete. The cab interiors, mechanics and meters are government regulated, and the vast majority of cabbies are cheery and chatty souls. Travel cards are not accepted in taxis, but for a group of four or five persons, a journey can work out cheaper then a bus.
Guide info:
Our guides are smartly presented, knowledgeable and friendly. They are professionally qualified and fully insured. They carry the 'Blue Badge' accreditation allowing them to conduct tours, walks and interior visits of the major London venues and many other attractions in the UK.
