On the following six tours you will be personally guided by a fully accredited & qualified 'Blue Badge' official guide.
CUTTY SARK TOUR
The Cutty Sark is currently being refurbished and is scheduled to be open in Spring 2012. More details will appear when available.
Newly refurbished. Waiting for spring 2012 opening dates. Admission payable.
HMS BELFAST TOUR
A life on the ocean waves. Find out what it was like for Royal Navy sailors during WWII in this fascinating floating museum. Here's one amazing fact: the forward guns are officially pointed at a service station 14 miles away! The sights and smells of life on-board are certainly brought to life. Lots of knobs to pull and buttons to press for those who like that sort of thing. Have your photo taken in the punishment cell. A fascinating tour for young and old alike.
Open daily. Admission payable.
KEW GARDENS TOUR
The world famous Royal Botanic Gardens in south-west London. Opened in 1759, it contains 1/8 of all flowering species known on earth, and many rare trees and plants. There are 39 listed buildings including the humid Palm House (1888) which maintains a tropical rain-forest climate, and contains the world's oldest pot plant. Plus the Temple of Arathusa, a Japanese farmhouse traditionally thatched with bamboo, and a conservatory.
Open daily. Admission payable.
LONDON EYE FLIGHT TOUR
A-Round London. London's most popular paid-for visitor attraction. The world’s biggest and most famous observation wheel was erected to celebrate the Millennium. It is 350ft high, turns at 1mph, and takes 30 minutes for a full rotation. It offers unrivalled views of London. Sit back and take in the vastness of the city, play the world's biggest game of ‘I Spy’, and be photographed as you 'come in to land'. Queue-beating fast-track tickets available.
Open daily. Admission payable.
MADAME TUSSAUDS TOUR
Waxing miracles. Established by Marie Tussaud, the woman who taught art to Marie Antoinette’s children. She made death masks of the French royal family and moulds of guillotined victims. In her museum today there's a fun glamour-party display for photo opportunities with waxwork celebrities, some of them disconcertingly real. Hmm, celebrities as dummies. Can you spot the difference? Also features the infamous Chamber of Horrors.
Open daily. Admission payable.
THAMES RIVER CRUISE
Winston Churchill called the River Thames 'a silver thread through London’s history'. London is located in the basin of the Thames, a tidal river up to Teddington, flowing both ways, rising or falling up to 7 metres accordingly. Its source is 215 miles away. For much of London’s history the Thames was the main road. The Romans first bridged it about 50AD. The Victorian engineer Bazelgette built embankments to shore up the riverbank, then put chains in the river - cleansing and improving the flow. However, the real clean-up was only completed in the last 30 years or so. Now there are 121 types fish in the river. Take a trip on a Thames River Cruise to find out more about this most famous of waterways, while viewing some of London's most impressive buildings.
Open daily. Admission payable.
AUDIO/INHOUSE/SELF-GUIDED TOURS OF LONDON'S POPULAR ATTRACTIONS
The following four tours are audio/inhouse/self-guided tours only. However, you will be escorted by an accredited & qualified 'Blue Badge' official guide.
LONDON ZOO
Animal magic. How about you, you, you? You can come too, too, too. Kids will enjoy the children’s petting zoo and ‘hands-on’ insect house. Scary! The famous reptile house featured in the first Harry Potter movie. Scarier: In 1843 the first keeper tried to charm a cobra. It bit him between the eyes and he died! Plus elephants and rhinos, monkeys and giraffes, lions and tigers, smelly and fun!
Open daily. Admission payable. Self-guided tours only.
SHAKESPEARE'S GLOBE THEATRE: BIG ‘O’ TOUR
Faithful re-creation of the famous 16th century theatre by the riverside, and scene of the Bard's greatest triumphs. Rebuilt in the 1990s by an American film producer using the original plans and original materials. Wooden frame, thatched roof, and not a single metal rivet! The acoustics are incredible, the design having been based on a pub! It’s a working open-air theatre, exhibition and tour. Tickets may even be available for a performance.
Daily. Entry fee payable (family/group rates available).
Open daily. Admission payable. Inhouse tours only.

TOWER BRIDGE TOUR
Please don’t call me London Bridge! Most photographed bridge in the world, with a great opportunity for a group photograph with the bridge in the background. Built to allow shipping access to the Pool of London and opened 1894 at a cost of £1m. Designed by Horace Jones, famous for his iron structures, he gave it medieval gothic look to blend in with the adjacent Tower. Crossed by 40,000 vehicles a day. In 1952 a No.78 bus jumped the gap!
