THEME & ITINERARY
This walk follows in the footsteps of the great bard. We start in the northern part of the city where Shakespeare settled with a London merchant family. Then we make our way south through the city, examining Shakespeare connections on the way, and using almost certainly the same route the bard himself would have taken as he made his way to his main place of work on the south side of the river.

Finally we reach Southwark where Shakespeare worked at his beloved Globe Theatre. Bankside had a reputation for low-living, with taverns, gambling, entertainment, brothels, and the location of countless smelly industries. Some parts have remained untouched since Shakespeare’s time.

En route we will uncover a whole host of fascinating talking points, including links to some of other great writers in the English language, the stinky old alleyway that helped to endow America’s foremost university, London’s last galleried coaching inn and London's oldest Gothic church, all of which have Shakespeare connections.

You will be escorted personally on your walk by an officially qualified Blue Badge London guide. At the end of the walk there's an option to visit Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre (entry fee).

HOW THE WALKING TOUR WORKS:

● Important note: This is a private walk for families or groups (up to 20). We do not offer options for individuals to join existing groups. Groups 21+ require additional guides.

● Dates: We recommend early booking to secure your preferred date. Dates subject to availability of guides and access.

● The guide: The walking tour will be conducted by a fully accredited & qualified guide who will confirm your itinerary and provide a friendly, knowledgeable commentary.

● Meet: The guide will meet your group outside St Paul's London underground station. Please do not block public access or exits while waiting for your walking tour to start.

● Timings: The duration of this walking tour is 2 hours approx. Start anytime after 10.00. Access to some areas may be restricted in late evenings/weekends.

● Health & Safety: Clients should be in reasonable health for a 2-hour walking tour. Clients are responsible for own safety when crossing roads, climbing steps, etc.

● Clothing: Clients should dress appropriately for a 2-hour walking tour making allowances for the changeable British weather.

HOW TO BOOK YOUR WALKING TOUR IN 3 EASY STEPS:

● Full address of hotel, place of residence or venue if to be met.
● Special interests or information to help us make your walk more enjoyable.
● Lead contact name and full billing address.
● Home phone number or cell phone number.

STEP 2: On receiving this information we will e-mail a reply confirming availability, price and payment procedure. If the walk is unavailable, eg, roads are closed or we are fully booked, we will inform you or provide details of another operator.

STEP 3: If you are happy with your walk booking please make payment as directed.
Payments can take up to 48 hrs to process. On receiving payment, we will e-mail a confirmation and receipt. Please check details carefully and e-mail us with any queries.

BOOKING POLICY AND NOTES:
• Bookings are dealt with on a one-to-one basis via e-mail only.
• We do not accept bookings with less than 72 hours notice.
• To secure your preferred date we recommend booking well in advance.
• All tours subject to availability. Booking will not go ahead until availability is confirmed.
• Tour is not guaranteed to go ahead until 100% of payment is received.
• Administration fees may be added for extensive itineraries or supplementary guide hire.
• We do not arrange flights, accommodation, travel tickets or tickets for events.
• We do not usually pre-book tickets for attractions. We recommended these are paid
for at the gate on the day. In circumstances where pre-booking is the only option for
attractions, tickets must be paid for in advance and are non-refundable.
